“ River and her banks “

 

‘ ये राते ये मौसम नदी का किनारा ये चंचल हवा ! ‘

River always denotes onscreen magnificent romance of Bollywood films of golden era. 

On screen it is so beautiful to see delightful evening , a village full of  green and few  scattered cottages and mid of the screen a river flowing across . Wow who will not fall in love of this cinematic visuals as well as imagining himself in place of hero or herself in place of heroine. Most ever promising scene of every second film of those days when “ Jay Jawan Jay Kisan “ was the nation’s greatest slogan. 

In Our traditions we treat rivers as goddesses. She flows down from her origin and through out her journey until she meets sea , she takes care of neighbouring flora and fauna. She is the example of selfless offering. Our country is entangled by many such rivers. To name a few In north we have Ganga, Yamuna & Saraswati. In east we have Bramhaputra. In west we have Narmada, Krishna , Godavari and in south we have Kaveri, Sharavati, Tungabhadra. These are just few among many others. If you see , every river has her own individuality. A mystic story behind her presence on this earth. She carries all emotions those every woman has. When she starts flowing from her origin she is like giggling small girl dancing around running so fast, slowly when she comes down to a plateau  she start swirling around like beautiful adolescent singing song for someone who is yet far away waiting to greet her.  Slowly she becomes wider encompasses nearby area , make it affluent in all aspects be it plantation, be it farming & agricultural, be it animal husbandry etc. it’s like now she has almost done with her duties and ready to surrender herself in arms of her beloved and flow together.

What she teaches us. Now the title comes in  the picture. River  always flows between two of her riverbanks. Yes you are correct. Although she has abundant to give she neither overdo nor overlook . She follows her same path ages and ages . What kind of discipline she shows. It’s really difficult to do and redo the same things over a period with same positive energy and vibrantly and consistently. Shall we not bow down and touches her feet like we do to our mother. 

So next time whenever you go any riverside just realm yourself , bow down and try to reassure yourself of being like River and her banks.
